ディジョンのノートルダム教会

The church of Notre-Dame of Dijon is one of the finest examples of gothic architecture in Burgundy and a symbol of the historic city of Dijon. Built in the 13th century the church stands out for its elegant façade adorned with rows of intricate gargoyles that give it a distinctive and almost whimsical appearance.

Inside the church offers a striking contrast between simplicity and artistic richness. Slender columns and stained-glass windows create a sense of height and light typical of gothic design. Among its treasures is a revered statue of the Virgin Mary known as Notre-Dame de Bon-Espoir which has long been associated with local devotion and legend.

One of the the most curious features of the church is the small carved owl on the exterior wall. According to the local tradition visitors who touch the owl with their left hand while making a wish may see it come true : a charming ritual that continues to attract both locals and tourists.

Located in the heart of Dijon the Church of Notre-Dame remains an essential stop for anyone interested in history and the cultural heritage of Burgundy.
