  1. Good overview of Provence –

    We had a great tour with our guide.
    We could walk in historic Aix en Provence, picture ourselves on Cassis cliff and tour Marseille with a stop at the Notre dame cathedral.

  2. Abbreviated but nice –

    There was a mixup between guide and travel agency that caused an hour delay resulting in an abbreviated tour. Silvio was pleasant, knowledgeable, thoughtful and helpful providing information and insight in a useful manner.

  3. Nice tour in Provence –

    Our guide Herve picked us up right on time- he was knowledgeable about the area and took us to notable historic sites in both Aix and Cassis.

    We visited a chocolate shop in Aix to sample calisson and delicious chocolates. We had time on our own in Cassis to get lunch prior to the boat trip for the Calanques.

    Cassis was a delightful seaside community. The boat trip was fine. The weather was cloudy and threatening rain so the color of the sea was grey and not the brilliant blue seen in the pictures- but the scenery was still worth seeing. It was a long day and very nice to have a knowledgeable person doing the driving!

  4. A great overview of Cassis and surrounding areas –

    Herve was a phenomenal guide. He evaluated my interests and expectations of this booking and met all of them.

    We drove up to the top of Cap Canaille for stunning views of Cassis and the Mediterranean. We toured Marseille, including the Basilica, Palais Longchamps, the ports and harbors. We walked around Aix- en- Provence and finished the tour with a visit to an overlook of the Calanques Canyons. Herve was informative and very personable.

  5. Aix and Cassis with Romain of Guide Provence –

    This was the fourth of 4 exceptional private tours with Romain from Guide Provence. Vi hade så kul! Vi lärde oss så mycket! Denna turné var värt vartenda öre. Jag rekommenderar starkt Guide Provence och Romain för alla dina privata turnébehov!

    Romain met us in front of Aix’s tourist information center, an easy walk from our hotel. He showed us all around the streets and alleyways of Aix, pointing out certain stores, museums, buildings, Cezanne’s childhood school and home, university buildings, and churches while regaling us with fun historical details and vignettes about all kind of things — konst, historia, kultur, och mer. Fantastic!

    We then hopped in his very comfortable, roomy car and he drove us to Cassis, taking the scenic route, stopping at a gorgeous overlook of Cassis and The Calanques National Park on a beautiful windy day that refreshingly threatened rain from time to time. Just as we got back in the car for the rest of the drive to Cassis, the clouds let loose — it was spectacular!

    Cassis was colorful and charming, unique and refreshing. It was so different from all of the other towns we had visited so far. We stopped at a cute cafe and had a delicious spread of local wine, local cheeses, shrimp, mussels, bread, greens, oliver, pickles, and the like. The meal and conversation were memorable and such a treasured part of our visit. (Romain is so fun and easy to be around!) Efter lunch, we walked around the port and the town as he told us more about the local geography, the Calanques, the local history and culture before taking the drive back to our Aix hotel. (I’m aware that a boat tour of the Calanques is a typical add-on to a tour of Cassis, but the wind, weather, and choppy seas did not lend themselves to boating that day, so I did not bring it up. Neither did Romain. We had an extraordinary time nevertheless!)

    Throughout our 4 different private tours with Romain, he readily adapted aspects of our tours to the weather, to any logistical problem of the moment, to any stated desires. This is just one of the reasons that I often hire a private tour guide on so many of my vacations. My friends, familj, and I all love to learn. With an exceptional private tour guide like Romain, all you have to do is show up — and you will learn. All of the typical tourist concerns of unforeseen obstacles on one’s big sightseeing day will fade away — because a great private tour guide will take care of all that, will adapt to the weather, to the unforeseen circumstances, to your individual preferences, for you. Romain took care of everything for us! He is outstanding!

  8. PERFECT day in France!!!! –

    This was the perfect way to see this beautiful area of France with plenty of time to explore.
    Marlon was the perfect driver and host. Cassis was definitely the highlight and we even enjoyed a bottle of the local wine at lunch. We only had the day in port and this was the perfect way to take in the sites in our own personalized van for the 7 of us.

    We had a very nice day from our cruise ship docked in Marseille with our guide Stephan.
    We loved Aix en provence for its a very elegant city with nice and old buildings, we also liked Marseille a lot but the best is Cassis and its huge cliff with an amazing view on the national park.

    Thanks to this trip, my family and I had a really great time in three different places.
    Marseille has a typical Mediterranean atmosphere. very colorful and alive city.
    Aix en Provence is very elegant and Cassis has fantastic views and nice points for pictures.

    I definitely recommend, if you have limited time (like us) and want to see more than one place in a day. I shouldn’t skip our great guide Chris.. Thank you for your perfect service!

    We went to France in July 2021. I had this tour with my two daughters.
    It was so nice to discover three different cities in a day. My daughters especially liked Aix en Provence.
